Paul Smith

Founder/Chairman + Event Director

Paul was one of the Datchet Beer Festival founders back in 2010 and has been leading the way ever since. Paul has worked at many beer festivals across the UK, including the  GBBF and his wealth of experience and knowledge of brewers and their beers is a passion he loves to share. Paul has made Datchet Beer Festival the popular and successful event it is today.

David (Dave) Smith

Founder/Finance & Operations Director

Experience they say is everything, and Dave is one of the most experienced members of the Festival team. A long term CAMRA member and a great supporter of local and district initiatives, Dave is always on the go at a committee or group.

Dave has driven the Datchet Beer Festival forward with his organisation skills and his passion for making a memorable event for everyone.

Jamie Bailey

Marketing Director and Webmaster

Jamie has been part of the Festival team from day one and alongside Paul and Dave has helped the event  grow from its small humble beginnings into the firm favourite it has become.  His love of real-ale was a slow-burning passion, but over the years it has developed and he is now a firm convert. Getting the Festival looking good and making sure everyones knows all about us - that's Jamies job.

Clive Smith

Regional Director

Clive, originally a Datchet man, now living in Yorkshire, joined the Festival team in the very first year. His broad knowledge of breweries right across the UK allows Datchet Beer Festival to bring in some special ales from further afield. As an Ironman, Triathlon and Duathlon competitor (recently representing Team GB) at events across the globe, Clive is also a useful team member during set up and close down, when boundless energy is needed!

David Cannon

Research and Logistics Director

David is, when it comes to facts and figures about beer, our go-to man! With a particular specialism across the stronger (more robust) ales (7%+ ABV), Davids experience and almost encyclopedic knowledge ensures we always have beers that will suit everyone; from the enthusiatic amateur to the connoisseur! Organisation and preparation are Davids watch-words  and he helps ensure the event runs like clockwork.

Creative

Paul is the member of the team whose input, through his creative expertise, is seen and praised by everyone. Our annual Festival Programme sets us apart from other events, and every year Paul adds something new that makes it not just a great guide to the ales and ciders on offer, but an interesting read for everyone.
